The brokers that can carry your orders.
A live StratVerra strategy places its orders through your own broker account. These are the brokers that can carry those orders today.
Backtesting needs no broker at all. You can build a strategy and run it against minute-level option chains on 6 underlyings before you connect anything.
Every broker, specifically
Interactive Brokers
The Trader Workstation API
Connect the app to Trader Workstation or IB Gateway running on your own machine. Paper accounts and live accounts both work, and the engine treats them identically apart from the port.
MEXEM
Introducing Broker to Interactive Brokers · The Trader Workstation API
MEXEM clients run an IBKR white-label build of TWS/Gateway — the installers come off interactivebrokers.com — so the API, the ports and the order types are the same ones.
LYNX
Introducing Broker to Interactive Brokers · The Trader Workstation API
LYNX clients run IBKR's TWS and a rebranded IB Gateway that LYNX calls LYNX Gateway; the TWS API and its ports are unchanged.
Easybroker
Introducing Broker to Interactive Brokers Ireland Limited · The Trader Workstation API
Easybroker ships IBKR's TWS alongside its own simplified client portal — connect the app to the TWS, not the portal.
Where live trading runs
Build and backtest in your browser. Install the desktop app only when you're ready to connect a broker for paper or live execution.
Live trading runs on your machine. The app starts the engine locally and it connects to the gateway on your own computer, so an order goes from you to your broker and never through our servers. We never receive your broker login: what we store is the address, port and account number needed to reach the gateway.
Backtests are the other way round — they run in the cloud, on hosted data, which is what makes them fast and why they need no broker at all. The full list of what we store is in the privacy policy.
Your broker isn't listed
Brokers are plugins to the engine, not assumptions baked into it — the backtester and the live engine share one code path and neither knows which broker is on the other end. Adding one is real work rather than a switch, but it is bounded work. Tell us which one you use — tell us here.
If you hold an account with another Interactive Brokers introducing broker, it is likely already close to working — that is worth telling us about.
All broker names and logos are the trademarks of their respective owners, shown here only to identify the accounts StratVerra can connect to. StratVerra is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.
Build and backtest before you connect anything — see pricing.
